In 2019, four stalwarts of the New Orleans music scene, George Gekas (The Revivalists), Alvin Ford Jr., Paul Provosty, and Andriu Yanovski, had an impromptu gig at The Maple Leaf in New Orleans, all called upon by Gekas. The chemistry was so undeniable, they took it to the studio and formed Pocket Protection.
